The Thruway Authority says it will credit the accounts of about 35,000 E-ZPass customers who were overcharged at the Harriman toll plaza.
Officials say between Aug. 14 and Sept. 5, people who drove northbound on the highway entering from Route 17 in Woodbury were overcharged by a small amount due to a computer glitch.
The problem has since been fixed, and customers will automatically be credited on their next E-ZPass statements.
Cash customers and motorists traveling in the southbound direction were not affected.
Customers who think they did not receive a credit on their next statement can contact the E-ZPass Customer Service Center.
