The Turn to Tara team confirms a coronavirus exposure halted the murder trial of suspected serial killer Robert Durst.
The Westchester real estate heir was expected to take the stand Thursday in his own defense, but court in Los Angeles was abruptly adjourned due to a positive COVID-19 test.
News 12’s Tara Rosenblum was told someone in the courtroom tested positive for the virus although they were wearing a mask.
Durst is facing murder charges in the death of his friend Susan Berman.
The 78-year-old man is accused of killing Berman to prevent her from revealing what happened to his wife, Kathie Durst, who disappeared from Westchester County decades ago.
The trial is expected to resume Aug. 9. There is still a possibility Durst could take the stand.
