A couple of good Samaritans saved a truck driver after a crash on I-95 overnight.
Police say the a tractor-trailer jackknifed on I-95 in New Rochelle around 2 a.m. today. The truck then careened into a barrier, severing the truck from the cab.
Smoke was coming out of the vehicle when some good Samaritans pulled the driver from the wreckage. The driver was brought to the hospital with minor injuries.
Crews spent the early morning hours cleaning up the wreckage, and the roadway was clear by 6 a.m.
Police are looking into whether speed or slick roadways played a role in the accident.
