A Croton mother pleaded not guilty Wednesday to killing her 6-year-old daughter with a toxic mix of medicines.
Kathleen Dymes appeared in County Court in White Plains. Her charges include criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child.
David Carr discovered his 6-year-old daughter Lacey Carr dead next to her unconscious mother on Easter Sunday inside a home on Croton Avenue. Lacey was found with 10 times the therapeutic level of two prescription painkillers in her system.
Dymes spent several weeks in a coma, and is currently in a wheelchair.
Prosecutors allege Dymes was trying to commit suicide. Two written notes, heroin, liquor, a chef's knife and bottles of prescription painkillers were found in the room.
