An appellate court has ruled that the 99th Assembly District race will go on and there will be three candidates on the ballot. The ruling comes after a state Supreme Court judge issued an order postponing the vote because of a legal battle over who should be on the ballot. The big issue was whether long-time incumbent Willis Stephens? name should remain on the ballot even though he tried to drop out of the race after losing the Republican primary. The appellate court decided Stephens? name will be on the ballot under the Conservative and Independent lines. That means Republican Greg Ball will have to split the Conservative-Independent party ticket with Stephens. Ken Harper will run on the Democratic line. The 99th Assembly District covers parts of Westchester, Dutchess and Putnam counties.Related Information 99th Assembly District in turmoil over ruling to postpone election
