Students, activists and members of the union at Sarah Lawrence College rallied Friday for a fair contract for maintenance workers at one of the most expensive colleges in the nation.
Patsy Morano says that he and his fellow maintenance workers aren't asking for much, just a fairer contract that would pay more than the current $23 an hour.
Students at the private liberal arts school have been showing their support since negotiations began last year.
College administrators say they value the workers' right to negotiate; however, they say that despite a $65,000 price tag to attend the school, the college struggles with limited financial resources due to a small endowment.
Both sides say they have devoted countless hours to the bargaining process, although there is still no resolution.
