WHAT'S NEW: Severe thunderstorms possible Thursday. Dangerous heat levels possible Sunday to Tuesday. Heat wave possible with highs near 90 and feels like temperatures 95 to 100 degrees.
TODAY: This morning will be cloudy with fog and scattered showers. This afternoon breaks of sunshine, otherwise mostly cloudy with spotty showers and a chance of thunderstorms between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Warmer and a little humid. There will be dry periods to squeeze in outdoor events. Highs near 79, 70 to 75 for Eastern Suffolk County. South wind 5 to 15 mph. Brief heavy rain is possible in any thunderstorms.
TONIGHT: Cloudy with scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 p.m. Areas of fog. Low around 67. South wind around 5 to 10 mph.
Juneteenth (THURSDAY): STORM WATCH: Sun and clouds, warm to hot conditions. Pop showers and thunderstorms developing in the afternoon. Be alert. Some of the storms could be severe with strong winds, hail and a very small chance of tornado. High near 87, near 90 parts of Nassau and 80 to 85 Eastern Suffolk. Feel-like temperatures 88 to 94. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph.
Thursday Night: A few showers and thunderstorms through 11 p.m. Some of the storms could be severe. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 65. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph.
Friday: Mostly Sunny, with a high near 84.
