A Newburgh city official tells News 12 that a taxicab was struck by bullets on Monday night, shortly before a witness says another vehicle was found crashed into a pole with bullet holes early Tuesday morning. 

According to unconfirmed reports, the cab was caught in the crossfire during a gun battle, possibly between teens.  

News 12 is told bullets pierced the windshield and dashboard, just barely missing the driver.  

The official says the back-to-back incidents remain under investigation and no injuries were reported.
