The American Red Cross is teaming up with celebrity chef David Burke this week to raise money after a tough year of natural disasters led to a drain in resources.

The local chapter is hosting a fundraiser in downtown White Plains Wednesday night.

The organization responds to an average of seven emergencies per day across Westchester, Rockland, West Point and Greenwich, providing shelter, food and clothing at no cost.

Wednesday night's fundraiser is being held at Red Horse by David Burke at the Opus Hotel in White Plains.
