A grandmother in North Carolina is proving it’s never too late to get your college degree.
Leita McCormick will walk at her graduation ceremony at the University of North Carolina Wilmington on Saturday.
McCormick is finishing her degree in Communications after starting more than 50 years ago.
She started college in 1966 but spent 20 years moving around the country with her family and wasn’t able to finish.
McCormick explained her biggest challenge this time around, "If you were to ask what was the most difficult part, I'll just tell you it’s getting up to grade on the computer. I mean... believe me, it was all very new to me!"
After graduation McCormick plans to recommit to music and volunteer work.
