News 12 is told seven people were injured late Thursday morning in a serious head-on collision on River Road in New Windsor. 

Sources say one person was flown to Westchester Medical Center and six others were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital by ambulance. 

Rescuers on the scene say one victim was trapped for more than 40 minutes. The injuries were isolated to those traveling in the two cars that collided. 

State police eventually reopened the road to traffic.
