The 21st annual Thanksgiving Diversity Breakfast, hosted by the American Jewish
Committee of Westchester-Fairfield, was held in Valhalla this morning.
Residents and Westchester County officials, including County Executive George
Latimer and State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, were there to
say no to hate in the wake of increased hate incidents and crimes, and racist
and anti-Semitic attacks.
"We're doing this because of the times that we're in, and frankly, the
need is just as much today as it was when we launched the Thanksgiving Diversity
Breakfast…we both stand together, with each other and for one
another," says Myra Clark-Siegel, regional director of AJC Westchester/Fairfield.
Guests also signed a joint statement, agreeing to support people of other
backgrounds in the community.
