A Bronx Zoo animal keeper was "nipped" at by a tomistama, according to the Bronx Zoo.
Representatives from the zoo say that the keeper was cleaning an enclosure around 2:30 p.m. Sunday when they slipped and fell.
The Bronx Zoo released a statement to News 12, which reads, "the small tomistoma nipped at the left forearm of the keeper. The keeper was treated at a local hospital and released for a minor wound which did not need stitches."
The animal is also called a Malayan gharial, which is a genus of gavialid crocodilians. They are recognized for their long and narrow snouts that are used to catch fish.
