Yonkers firefighters battle house fire as extreme heat complicates response
Crews were called to a home on Crawford Street, where they arrived to find heavy smoke and flames pouring from the building.
Fire officials say the blaze caused significant damage to the home.
“You can see from the outside that it looks like that front living room. It took the majority of the fire, but it extended up to the second floor and into the attic space,” an assistant fire chief said.
Authorities say one person was inside the home when the fire started but was able to get out safely.
No injuries were reported.
Investigators are now working to determine what sparked the fire.
