A Yonkers woman has been indicted in a case involving a wounded dog that was allegedly abandoned near a local cemetery.

Prosecutors say 60-year-old Anita Martin faces animal abandonment and animal abuse charges.

Authorities say security video showed Martin leaving a 1-year-old dog near Oakland Cemetery in November.

Investigators say the dog had cuts on its throat when it was found.

The case drew widespread attention from animal advocates and residents.

Martin is due back in court next month.

The Westchester County District Attorney's Office says the dog has since recovered and is now living in a loving home.
