Brownsville man identified as victim in Morris Heights fatal shooting; 4 people on the run, sources say

Authorities identified a Brownsville man as the victim of a fatal shooting in Morris Heights. Police sources tell News 12 a man and three women remain on the run in connection with that shooting.

Officers found Elyjah Williams, 21, with a gunshot wound to his head inside 1930 Harrison Ave. just before 11 p.m. on March 29. Williams was killed nearly 20 miles from his home.

Police say they initially responded to a 911 call for an assault inside the apartment building when they made the discovery.

Paramedics rushed the 21-year-old to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he fought for his life. Authorities say he died the following day.
