A man is in critical condition after a shooting on Harrison Avenue in Morris Heights on Sunday night.

Police say the shooting happened just before 11 p.m. Police were initially called to the scene at 1930 Harrison Ave. for an assault. When they arrived, they found a 21-year-old man shot in the head.

He was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Sources tell News 12 the victim did not live in the building. Police are now looking for three women and one man in connection with the shooting.

Neighbors say they are now on high alert.

"I've been living here since 1986, and this is the first time I hear something like this," said one neighbor. "Have a toddler at home, so I get worried just coming inside the building and something happening to one of us.”

Police are asking anyone who may have information about the shooting to call the Crime Stoppers hotline.
