Thousands of people turned out for the "No Kings Rally" in Stamford on Saturday.

Organizers said it was their biggest ever.

"No Kings Rally" protests also happened across the country and state.

The rally kicked off in front of Stamford Superior Court, where protestors from across the region gathered to speak out against the policies of the Trump administration.

They say the size of the event reflects the growing anger people are feeling about the war with Iran, immigration and more.

"These kind of rallies are so important because people are using their constitutional rights of free speech, freedom to be able to gather, peacefully assemble to show how much they don't like this regime and what's happening in Washington, D.C. right now," said State Sen. Bob Duff.

Gov. Ned Lamont issued a statement on the protests. It says, "In this state, we wrap our arms around our families, we fight like hell for our democracy, and we remind the world that in the United States of America, there are no kings."
