Bridgeport-based Homes for the Brave announced $120,000 in federal funding on Monday morning.

That money will go toward the nonprofit's workforce development and supportive services for veterans.

"This will help us fund our vocational program which helps our veterans find employment opportunities, as well as training and educational opportunities for them to further their careers," said Vince Santilli, CEO of Homes for the Brave.

Santilli says Sen. Richard Blumenthal was pivotal in securing the federal funds for Homes For The Brave.

Blumenthal is the ranking member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee.
