As Women's History Month nears its end, Bunnell High School's Women's Empowerment Club hosted its fifth annual Women's Leadership Meet & Greet on Friday.

The event brought together women leaders from across Connecticut to share their professional journeys and inspire students.

The gathering introduced students of all ages to women working in a range of professions.

Speakers discussed their experiences, challenges and achievements while encouraging students to support one another and pursue their goals.

Michelle Scatamacchia, a teacher at Bunnell who founded the Women's Empowerment Club, said she created the program to help boost students' confidence.

"I started this program because I noticed that some of our female students were talking down about themselves," Scatamacchia said. "I wanted to start the program to empower students and to really look out for each other."
