Seniors at a public housing apartment building in Yonkers say they have been dealing with flooding and security concerns for years.

Residents at 3 Curran Court told News 12 that water pours into the building during rainstorms, flooding hallways near the elevator. This makes it difficult for seniors who use walkers or other mobility devices to get around safely.

“It’s terrible to make seniors live like this,” said resident Gloria Bradshaw. She says the problem has been going on for three years.

Another resident, Richard Sayegh, said he has submitted repair requests but the problem has not been resolved.
Residents also say the building’s main lobby door is broken, which has left the entrance unsecured.

The Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers operates the building.

News 12 reached out to building management and the housing authority for comment but had not heard back as of Monday night.
