Students in Wilton celebrated the many cultures that make up their school community.

The Cider Mill School held its annual World Culture and Art Show Night on Tuesday.

Students and families showcased their cultural pride through clothing, food and games.

One family even performed a traditional Indian dance.

Teachers say it's important for students to learn more about their fellow classmates and their heritages.

"There's so much that divides us, but we have a lot of commonalities and we have to celebrate each other. At the end of the day, we have one each other, right? So it's important to get to know your neighbors and make connections and be able to celebrate who we are as people," said Jonathan Garcia, band director of Cider Mill School.

This was the first year that the art show was part of the event. Artwork was displayed throughout the school.
