Families and friends gathered in Mohegan Lake Saturday night to hold a candlelight vigil and prayed for the safe return of two missing Westchester County teen girls.

Officials with New York State Police say 15-year-old Violet Monroe and 17-year-old Evelyn Jimenez went missing on Saturday, May 10.

A search got underway earlier this week with the goal to find Monroe and Jimenez.

Authorities released images from Thursday morning that shows Monroe and Jimenez exiting a train in the Town of Southeast in Putnam County.

The Lakeland Central School District announced on Thursday that it joined the search for the missing girls.

The girls' parents, friends and family members are vowing to continue to search for them.

Anyone with information on the girls' whereabouts is urged to call Yorktown police or New York State Police.
