Ten people have been displaced following an overnight fire in Woodbridge.
It happened around 3 a.m. at 1256 St. Georges Ave.
Officials say the fire is believed to have started in an upstairs apartment. By the time officers arrived, the second-floor units were fully engulfed in flames.
Although they were originally told that all residents were able to exit the building, officers found four people were trapped in their apartments. Officers were able to get that group out of the building by climbing through the windows.
In total, four people experienced smoke inhalation. One was taken to the hospital while the remaining three refused medical attention.
The Red Cross is assisting with temporary housing, food and clothing.
It's not clear how damaged they are or if they can reopen.
Woodbridge police say the building that housed apartments and stores appears to be a "total loss."
