Yorktown town board pays tribute to late Supervisor Tom Diana in 1st meeting since his death

The Town of Yorktown convened its initial board meeting since the death of former Supervisor Tom Diana.
Community members shared stories and memories of Diana. Deputy Supervisor Ed Lachterman presided over the meeting and reflected on his eight years of collaboration with Diana on the town board, emphasizing their pre-existing friendship.
"I had the privilege and honor of serving with Tom for eight years on the town board. We were friends before that," reflected Lachterman.
In a special tribute, a plaque was dedicated in Diana's honor and prominently placed in his chair throughout the entire meeting. The plaque now stands on display at Town Hall.
