Yonkers woman who pleaded guilty in 2021 drunk-driving death of boyfriend sentenced

A Yonkers woman who pleaded guilty in the drunk-driving death of her boyfriend will spend six months in jail and five years on probation
Mercedes Vargas pleaded guilty in May to vehicular manslaughter and aggravated DWI.
Authorities say after an argument at their home, Vargas drove away with 42-year-old Martires Susana-Pena on the hood.
Officials say he was hanging on when the car hit a school building on Morris Street.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
