A former high school teacher in Yonkers was convicted yesterday of sexually abusing three teenage boys in his office and changing their grades to gain their trust.
Former Saunders High School computer teacher Dean Martin, 43, is now facing up to seven years in prison after a jury found him guilty of 26 of the 35 counts against him.
In a statement after the verdict was announced, Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore said, "This defendant used his position as a teacher, authority figure and mentor to coerce students under his charge. In exploiting his ability to adjust grades, test scores and attendance, he compelled and manipulated students into visiting him outside of class, solely to fulfill his own agenda."
Martin was convicted of charges including sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, forgery and falsifying business records. He is set to be sentenced in January.
