Police say a woman was stabbed to death Saturday night in Highbridge and two people of interest are in custody.

The NYPD responded to a 911 call for an assault in progress inside 1182 Ogden Ave. just after 10 p.m.

Officers discovered Shashamanie Thompson, 30, unconscious and unresponsive with stab wounds to her face and abdomen in her sixth-floor apartment. Blood splatters were found in the building stairwell.

A neighbor that wanted to remain anonymous claims they often saw a couple arguing outside of the building on numerous occasions.

Police have two people in custody in connection to Thompson’s stabbing death. It is unclear what their relationship to the victim is.
