Woman faces up to 20 years in prison for fatal crash in Rockland

According to detectives, Elizabeth Mitchell was allegedly intoxicated and speeding when she lost control of her car, crashed, and fled the scene.

A 45-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a fatal crash in Rockland that killed Jahaad Muhammad and seriously injured Devonte Jones. The crash occurred in Orangetown last June.

According to detectives, Elizabeth Mitchell was allegedly intoxicated and speeding when she lost control of her car, crashed, and fled the scene.

Mitchell will be sentenced in July and faces up to 20 years in prison.
