A woman is accused of sexually assaulting her 4-year-old nephew in Orange County.

Authorities say Tonya Lee Krout sodomized her nephew last week while they stayed at a hotel in Newburgh.

They also allege that the boy's mother, Tanya Rae Kling, hid the abuse from police, who were questioning about his welfare.

Police say two other people with them, Dennis and Deboara Terwilliger, knew the boy was being abused and did nothing to stop it.

Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus says the only silver lining is that the child has been brought out of what could have potentially been an even more dangerous situation.

"I'm happy that that child is safe now," he said.

The case is set to be presented before a grand jury on Wednesday. The four suspects will also appear in Town Court Wednesday evening. All four suspects have pleaded not guilty.
