The widow of a soldier who was murdered two years ago is voicing her disappointment in the way the justice system is working on the case.
Alberto Martinez allegedly killed Captain Phillip Esposito, of Suffern, and Lieutenant Louis Allen, of Chester, in 2005. Prosecutors say Martinez killed the men by setting off explosives inside their living quarters in Iraq. He is charged with the murders of both men.
Siobhan Esposito says she wants to see her husband?s alleged killer go to trial. "Its disgusting. He showed absolutely no regard for life and I don't think there should be any excuse for him,? Esposito says. She says her primary concern is for Martinez to be punished.
Esposito says she's discouraged at how slowly the proceedings are progressing. She says the date of the court martial keeps getting pushed back because the defense has not been filing motions according to deadlines.
A pre-trial hearing is scheduled in North Carolina for Monday, July 16.
