Similar to the festivities at Times Square in New York City, Westchester residents will countdown to the new year with a ball drop, their's being in White Plains.

Work crews spent much of Sunday afternoon raising the ball and setting up a stage for the night's festivities.

Security had a full presence for the event, with several entry points where attendees were screened before being allowed in.

Live music and a DJ provided a fun atmosphere for revelers, despite the bitter cold temperatures, before confetti and fireworks dropped at midnight.
