Members of the African-American community gathered in White Plains Saturday to celebrate a significant moment in history.
Many residents lined Mamaroneck Avenue for the annual Juneteenth parade.
The celebration marks the end of slavery in the Confederate Southern states on June 19, 1865.
The parade ended with a free festival right next to the White Plains library with lots of family fun for everyone.
