Four people were treated for minor injuries Monday after an apartment fire in White Plains.
Fire officials say the blaze started in a second-floor apartment at 2 Greenridge Avenue. It quickly tore through the apartment and spread smoke through the building. Three tenants and a firefighter were treated for minor injuries.
Residents say they suspect the fire might have been started by a smoker who left a cigarette burning. Fire officials say the smoker said she had not been smoking in the hours before she awakened to flames. An investigation is ongoing.
