Whipping winds cause power outages across region

News 12 meteorologists say the winds will lessen slightly as the day progresses but will still average around 10-25 mph.

Whipping winds created a slew of power outages across the region this morning.
Con Edison reports 27 outages in Westchester.
Orange and Rockland Utilities show 13 customers without power in Rockland, 23 in Orange.
NYSEG has only 18 outages in Westchester. Central Hudson reports nine customers in the dark in Dutchess, with 228 in Ulster and 10 in Putnam.
News 12 meteorologists say the winds will lessen slightly as the day progresses, but will still average around 10-25 mph.  It will be sunny, but the wind chills will make it feel like the teens though the afternoon.
