The Armoni Inn & Suites has been quiet since it closed last Friday for not having a new permit.

A woman identified only as “Cali” says she was “very scared” when she got a knock on her door and was asked to leave.

“I didn't know what was going on. I didn't know where I was going to go," she said.

She and a few others still don't have anywhere else to go after living at The Armoni for months.

Rockland County told News 12 that a "local law does not allow for stays longer than 30 days."

The Legal Aid Society based in Rockland is now working with several who were forced to leave the hotel. Rockland County told News 12’s Diane Caruso that it reached out to the Department of Social Services regarding the hotel's rooms being occupied, and to assist in finding other accommodations.

Cali reached out to News 12 to share her story of what's happened to her since news broke about New York City potentially sending migrant men to Orangeburg.

"The migrants – I don't know their situation. and why they're coming here for help. But I also know that there are people here right now that also need help,” she said. “Before we can help someone else, we truly have to make our own bed, so we can help other people."

Now, Cali says she’s down to her last $20 and is looking for a place to stay and a job.
