The warmer and muggier conditions will vanish after the showers clear later tonight. Look for a delightful close to the work week, but more rain comes in over the weekend.
There is a risk of spotty showers through tonight, then mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will stay mild with lows in the upper 60s to about 70 degrees.
Winds will shift behind the cold front to the north and become breezy for Friday morning. A cooler and drier feel will take over for the afternoon with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures up near 80 degrees. A much cooler air mass settles in by Friday night, making it feel like fall for the start of the weekend.
Rain returns and it will be heavy at times Sunday through the night. Rainfall totals could reach 1-2 inches, so be prepared for minor flash flooding through the tri-state area.
There is some uncertainty about how long Sunday's storm will stall into early next week. The current forecast trend is looking a little drier Monday now, but wetter Tuesday and Wednesday. This is still subject to change. Stay with the News 12 team for more updates.
