Chef Vinny, of Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace, shows News 12's Lily Stolzberg how to make Ravioli Caprese.

INGREDIENTS:

1 pack tomato basil ravioli (12 count)
½ cup olive oil
1 tbs shallots (minced)
1 tsp. garlic (minced)
1 cup grape tomatoes (halved)
Pinch crushed red pepper flakes
1 tbs. basil (rough chop)
1 tsp. salt
¼ tsp black pepper

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a sauté pan on medium-high heat, place the olive oil and allow it to come to temperature.
  2. Once the oil has come to temperature, add the shallots and begin to sauté.
  3. Once the shallots have become translucent, add the garlic and chili flakes, and sauté until the garlic becomes aromatic.
  4. Next, add the tomatoes and sauté for 1 minute.
  5. Remove the pan from the heat.
  6. Place the ravioli into a pot of boiling water and cook for 2 minutes.
  7. Once the ravioli is cooked drain completely and place the ravioli directly into the sauté pan with the tomatoes.
  8. Mix gently to not break any of the ravioli and coat the ravioli with the sauce.
  9. Garnish with the chopped basil.
