Westchester County leaders have unveiled a proposed capital budget totaling more than $604 million for next year.
The plan includes $50 million for affordable housing initiatives, with funding continuing through 2030.
Another $9 million is set aside for flood prevention projects, while $15 million will go toward designing and building safer roads.
"These projects aren't flashy, they're foundational," a county official said. "Every dollar is working harder to make Westchester smarter, greener and more affordable."
The budget will now go through public comment and review by the Board of Legislators before a final vote. It must be finalized by Dec. 27.
