Westchester law enforcement officers are training to protect local schools in the wake of the school shooting in Nashville.
An active shooter training was held on Saturday at the Fox Lane Campus in Bedford, spearheaded by the Bedford Police Department.
There were over 80 participants from agencies like North Castle and Pound Ridge police departments, along with Bedford Hills and Katonah fire departments.
Police usually do these drills once or twice a year, but the drill held Saturday was probably the largest they have ever done.
Police say they hope they never have to deal with an active shooter, but they always have to be prepared.
