Westchester District Attorney Mimi Rocah announced Thursday that she will not seek a second term in 2024.
Rocah, a Democrat, called it a difficult decision but one that is right for her and her family at this time.
Rocah says the terrorist attack on Israel and the aftermath has profoundly and personally impacted her in ways she did not expect.
She does not know what her next role will be.
Among other things, Rocah says she will work to raise public awareness and advocate for the extremely necessary ethical reforms that are needed for Westchester County.
Rocah was a former federal prosecutor and MSNBC analyst when she announced her candidacy.
