Westchester DA announces hotline to report hate crime

The Westchester County District Attorney unveiled a new tool Tuesday to fight crimes that often go unreported.
District Attorney Mimi Rocah announced a new hotline to report racism, elder abuse and other similar crimes.
"If someone's comfortable or used to calling their police department or 911 and they get a response that way that's fine. We're not trying to discourage other mechanisms, we're just trying to offer more avenues for people to report things," said Rocah.
Rocah stresses that the hotline is also a tip-line for things that are not necessarily a crime but something of concern to the community, like white supremacy flyers being posted.
The hotline number is 914-995-TIPS.
