SUNY Westchester Community College joined forces with Neighbors Link to host a panel discussion on immigration Wednesday night.
Around 200 people attended the event that was hosted at the community college.
It gathered leaders from the state and the community to dispel myths about settling migrants in the Hudson Valley.
Specifically, the panel addressed concerns about housing and the amount of time that it takes for migrants to obtain a work authorization.
News 12 caught up with Carola Otero Bracco, the executive director of Neighbors Link, to learn why this discussion was so necessary for her organization to host.
"We have immigrants coming and playing a real key role in our economy, in our culture, and it's important to understand the value that they bring," Bracco said.
