Drivers planning to take the Bronx River Parkway this weekend may want to find an alternate route.
Construction will shut down the parkway from the Sprain Brook spilt in Yonkers to the County Center at Main Street in White Plains beginning at 9 p.m. Friday. Traffic will be diverted from the parkway to the Sprain Brook Parkway and Central Avenue.
Drivers who live and work in the area say they are already thinking of alternate ways to get around.
The closure will allow crews to work on the Crane Road Bridge replacement project, which is expected to be complete in August.
The Bronx River will reopen at 9 a.m. Sunday.
