Heavy rain and strong winds made for a miserable day across the Hudson Valley.
Meteorologists say while there is a risk of a thunderstorm Wednesday evening, winds and rain will diminish after midnight.
Temperatures will rise into the low- to mid-50s by midnight and will fall back to around 48 degrees by Thursday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory through 4 a.m. Thursday.
Meteorologists say cold air will rush in on Friday and Saturday with highs about 40 degrees.
