‘We will rebuild.’ Business owners show damages caused by East End fires

Both business owners say they are thankful to the many first responders who came out Saturday to help get the fires under control.

Mark Cirillo, of Auto Gate on Old Riverhead Road in Westhampton Beach, is thankful his business is still standing. "The fire burned all around us," explained Cirillo. However, his paint shop, as well as multiple pieces of equipment that were outside couldn't be saved.

Mike Berdinka, owner of Pools in the Hamptons on Perimeter Road, isn't sure what he will do next. There was smoke and water damage inside his business. A second building that he uses for storage is now just a pile of rubble. He says he lost dozens of supplies and equipment. “We will rebuild," he said.
