A new statue was unveiled in Westchester this weekend that honors our four-legged heroes.
The Friends of Lasdon Park & Arboretum raised more than $40,000 to create a memorial statue dedicated to hero dogs in the military at Lasdon Park Saturday afternoon.
The "War Dogs" sculpture by Lena Toritch is based on a World War II-era dog named "Chips" who had local ties to Pleasantville.
The sculpture takes its place on the Trail of Honor in Somers, which pays tribute to all military veterans.
