A top aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo has reportedly agreed to be questioned by federal prosecutors in their investigation of the Moreland Commission.

The Wall Street Journal says Larry Schwartz has agreed to the questioning, possibly to avoid the public embarrassment of being issued a subpoena. When asked about Schwartz at a press conference Monday, U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara refused to comment on the topic.

Bharara's office is looking into allegations that Cuomo interfered with the anti-corruption panel. The New York Times says Cuomo had the panel stop subpoenas to groups that he had ties to.

Calls to Schwartz were not returned.
