Village elections are set to take place today all throughout the Hudson Valley after originally being postponed due to the pandemic.
The elections, originally scheduled for March, have been postponed twice due to COVID-19 per Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s executive order.
The Westchester County Board of Elections will be conducting the elections for the villages of Bronxville, Pleasantville, Sleepy Hollow and Tuckahoe. Today's voting is being done either in-person or thru absentee ballots.
Residents who spoke with News 12 say they prefer to vote in person. “I'll probably vote in person if I have the chance just because I think it's more of a traditional way to vote. And if I have a way to ask my phone to cast my vote and that it's going to get there right away I'll do it,” says Constantine Bernstein. “Most likely in person. I know my partners voting absentee. I think it's kind of crummy but I think everyone should be safe, I think safety does come first,” says Monique Moy.
All polling locations will close at 9 p.m.
Unofficial results will be available tonight shortly after stations close. You'll be able to get those results by clicking here.
