Verizon reports texting service repaired after East Coast outage
Hundreds of thousands of Verizon Wireless customers on the East Coast were unable to text message this morning.
The phone company confirmed the problem on Twitter while addressing questions from customers.
"We have confirmed there is a texting outage on the east coast. Our technicians are fully aware; we have a ton of customers that are being affected, and we're working non-stop to get this matter resolved as soon as possible."
David Weissmann, public relations manager for Verizon's North East market, said that by 9:45 a.m., service had been fully restored to all affected customers. "Anybody that was affected by this issue, it should be fully resolved at this time," he said.
